Hello Creative Friends
our theme is always *Anything Mixed Media Goes*
For my December DT creation i'm sharing a mixed media card.
Here's how it all came to be..
Using the Rustic Lantern Bigz die from Tim Holtz
I cut out the image from calico covered mount board.
Liner pen and a tickle of texture paste adds
depth and dimension to the rustic lantern's frame.
Painted with silver and black ink the inner globe is
blended with vintage distress ink heat embossed using
clear embossing powder to simulate it's shielding glass.
A fashioned wire handle is attached to the frame
Bigz Tattered Poinsettia's are die cut and painted, teasing the leaves
before gluing together adding those final dimensional central flowers.
A mini replica of an original once belonging to my late
Father in Law, it helped guide his way down the mines as a boy.
Created for my Mother in Law as a Christmas card
I hope it shines a brighter light as 2021 approaches..
I look forward to seeing your
Stay safe everyone
Creative wishes
Tracey xx

Absolutely fabulous! Sorry, very quick comments just now! Have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie
Wow, that's one stunning card! I loved seeing how it all came together and the vintage look is fabulous, it looks just like the real lamp on your photo - amazing 😁. The poinsettia finishes it so beautifully too, I love it! Thanks for the mixed media inspiration and wishing you a Happy Friday and weekend! Take care! Hugs, Jo x
This is amazing Tracey. You've created a wonderfully authentic looking lantern. Great textures and a pretty poinsettia xx
This is drop dead gorgeous, Tracey. Not only did you create an impressive lantern, you created a beautiful vignette around it. Simply stunning, dear.
Oh rats! I love your lantern, but it’s a Bigz die and the only one I can’t use in my machine. Your card is fabulous, I wonder if I could find a drawing and make it another way. I love the vintage look of it.
I do share your wish for 2021! This is such a thoughtful (and beautiful) card for your MIL and it looks amazing next to the real lamp. You make me wish I had bought this die now, it is one of the few I don't own. The handle gives the lamp such realism and the poinsettia is gorgeous. A gorgeous card.
Stay safe and well my friend. Hugs, Anne xx
Fabulous card Tracey. I first thought it was a small actual lantern. It is a really cool idea! Hugs-Erika
Thanks for visiting, my days are just flying by. I really love your Lantern card I've not seen that die as yet. My grandpa and dad had one ready to use all winter while I was growing up. Your splash of snow is great ! I do have the poinsettia and it's a good winter standby. Your mother in law will love this. And I do hope 2021 is much brighter. It's been a crazy 2020 Stay Safe
Tracey!!! This is truly the most stunning card I have seen. You could sell this in stores. Just gorgeous.

This is one stunning piece of work, Tracey. The way you have got that slightly corroded metal texture of the lantern. It was hard to see where the lantern you have made ended and the "real life" bits of the picture began - you made a beautiful still life assemblage with all the bits and pieces. Just gorgeous.
